How do you dudes equip your sets so that they function equally as well in both the Jazz and backbeat-oriented idioms? I find that the bass drum in particular requires some sort of variance.

ive got 2 different sets. one for jazz and one for rock. i like to aproach the two different styles (jazz and rock/cannon sizes) with different attitudes so the two for me are seperate.

I have my main jazz rides and an 18" kick that used to be a Pearl floor tom actually. I also have a nice birch snare I use on jazz gigs.
I dont really position any thing diferently. The cymbals maybe.
